Jon and I are crazy, but we decided that it was time to get JT used to the potty chair. So we picked one up at Walmart. Nothing fancy... no music when you pee or toilet paper hanging on the side. Just a normal chair that will be able to be used on the toilet and it turns into a cute step stool. Anyway, we brought it home and let JT sit on it to try it out. He wouldn't get off. He probably sat on it for a good 15 minutes. We tried feet in water and running the bath water, but nothing happened. So the next day after his nap I stuck him on it again. Again he wouldn't get off so i decided to sit at my computer and wait. About 5 minutes later he came to see me. We walked back into the bathroom to get a diaper and lo and behold he had peed in the potty!!!! I clapped and cheered and got all excited. Everytime he saw the potty the rest of the day he would clap. I need to get some candy to put in the bathroom for when he goes. :) Jon and I went to Mesquite over the weekend for our anniversary so we didn't get the chance to do anything, but tonight I put him on and started the bathtub. Within 2 minutes he had peed and was ready to get in the tub. I know most would say it is way early and he won't keep doing this and I know I am definitely not ready to put him in big boy pants, but hey... I am a proud mom right now :) And you can never get started too early right?

Good for you. We potty trained Noah about a month ago. Everyone told us he was too young as well, but I think it's rediculous how old kids are now days when they get potty trained. Congrats, it's a lot more exciting for the mom than the kid the first couple of times. Let me know if you need any tricks, we've tried them all. Noah's favorite is coloring the water with food coloring.
I am so jealous!!! and hey all kids develop at a different rate so maybe it isn't too soon for him, keep all of your tricks handy so I can ask about all of them when it's Brooklyn's turn!
YEAH!!!!!!! Way to go JT!
At that age I would always put them on the toilet right before their bath and they would go all the time. Well the boys anyway. I boys were just about 3 when they were ready and it only took 5 days, start to finish.
A trick with boys. Put him on facing backwards, regular toilet, until he's tall enough to reach with a stool and it's much easier for them and less cleaning for you.
That is nuts! My kid thinks the toilet is going to eat his butt cheeks if he sits on it! He turns into a clinging little monkey when I even attempt it! Funny how kids are all so different.. Im not too stressed, I figure Ive never seen a 30 year old man in a diaper with a binkie :) He will lose the binkie and pee when he wants to hahaha..that's my way to feel better about my 2 year old sportin a binkie hehe.. CONGRATS! I hope he keeps it up for you :)
Let him potty train if he's willing to do it. I have a cousin who wrote an e-book to potty training in 3 days. She has 5 boys and they were all trained between 18-22 months. It can be done! Just stick with it. Good luck!
