I lied! Merry Christmas!!!

So I know I said I wouldn't post until 2009, but I just had to post about Christmas. We are so incredibly blessed to be close to family. Christmas Eve we have our annual party with my mom's side of the family and unfortunately JT wasn't feeling well... so Jon took one for the team ;) and stayed home. We always have a talent show and it has been a few years since our family did something. This year I was able to do a "glow stick" (stick people) dance for YW in Excellence and our ward Christmas party with the YW presidency so I figured that would be fun for our family to do. I think everyone loved it and we had a blast performing. I got home just in time for JT to open his PJ's and go to bed. Christmas morning we woke up and luckily JT was feeling better. At least we didn't have to change a million diapers that day. We headed for Papa and Nana's house and opened presents with everyone. Once JT saw his bike from Santa he wasn't really interested in opening anymore presents. We forced him to open a few. We were definitely spoiled this year. Jon got me a Wii which was a total surprise and my parents bought us a lawnmower so we can finally mow our own lawn. :) We are enjoying spending time with family and can't wait for the new year to see what it will bring. (Hopefully a new little addition to our family!) I am now officially done until the New Year. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying the spirit that it brings.

This made my Christmas! He was so excited!

What a cute couple! ;) hehe
Notice they are checking each others presents out?
Even though it is the same thing!

Practicing form already! Uncle Dizzles gave JT the BYU football.
So I look a little stoned or something, but JT's face is stinkin cute. :)

Update Overload!

I can't believe how busy my last few weeks have been. Between taking care of JT and the house (which needs a lot more TLC), keeping up with our business, work, Christmas presents, YW activities and lessons, Christmas parties for our wards and work. I seriously feel like I haven't been able to stop. I am helping with our YW Christmas lesson next Sunday and that will take a lot of time this week along with our activity on Tuesday... so this seems to be the only time I have to "chill" for a second in between all the craziness. We have had fun, but I can't wait for next Sunday to be done and I can relax at least a few days before Christmas.
Now for the overload of pictures and videos!!! :)
Our Tree grew 3 feet this year. We went from a hand-me-down from Grandma to my parents tree. They decided to purchase a "pre-lit" tree. I don't mind putting the lights on I am just glad it reaches our ceilings! I love it. I also got brand new decorations this year. :)

JT wasn't quite sure about the man in red!
He didn't cry just wanted to get off his lap. I love the disgusted look on his face.
This is pretty much the face he makes whenever we try to get him to eat!

A short clip of the Santa experience.

The classic JT face. I am afraid he is going to be the "class clown"
We're already are seeing early signs. He is definitely a character!
We Love Him!!!!!

Nana tied his feet to the pedals and he was actually trying to pedal.

This is what happens when he feeds himself. He is getting better every time though.
Last but not least... We have been practicing "sounds"
Don't mind the food... it makes him even cuter! :)

Whew!!! We made it. I will not be back until after the New Year... so everyone have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!!!! It is now time to spend time with my family. My little sister came a week and a half earlier than planned from AZ and surprised my parents so we need to spend time together and let the boys play. See y'all in 2009!!!!!

Daddy's Shoes

This kid has an infatuation with shoes. He pretty much picks the ones he wants to wear each day. The flip flops and crocs are some of his favorite. The other day he wanted to wear daddy's shoes... You always have to have a picture like this. :) He totally cheesed it after I took the picture.

Motivated!

So I normally spend Tuesday and Wednesday nights after everything is done glued to my couch to watch Biggest Loser and America's Next Top Model. As crazy as it sounds I usually have my pop and some sort of snack to go along with the show. :) Every week I tell myself that I need to start exercising and losing some weight that has crept on me. My biggest downfall is Mt. Dew! It is my best friend. I can go a day or so without it, but why? So I know that Jon and my family has heard it a million times that I am going to quit LOL and I do for awhile, but than go right back. :) Tonight as I sat and watched all the stupid drama on Biggest Loser I finally felt motivated. I only had one more pop in the fridge and decided to hurry and drink it and be done. (We will see how I do.. not promising anything) So that show was finished (thanks to DVR) and I started to watch Top Model. I am not sure how I feel about the winner, but I guess the judges know best... anyway... After Top Model I got out my Hip Hop Abs at 11 PM and did the first cardio video. It is so crazy how good and accomplished I feel. Jon kind of looked at me strange, but at least I got up off the couch and did something right? Now onto the next hard thing. Getting rid of the junk in our house and at work. I will keep this updated on how I am doing. Maybe I will even put a ticker on the side. We will see how I feel. Anyone care to join me? I also cut my hair, but I just need to take a pic and post it (sorry it has taken so long Goon) :)

Other not so exciting news. JT may have a fracture in his upper leg. I would go into details, but it is past midnight and I am actually tired for once. We are going to the Dr. tomorrow to follow up after his xrays and I will post what they found. Please pray that everything will be ok! And just a picture so this post isn't so boring :)

Potty Time!

(Don't mind the "I just woke up look")

Jon and I are crazy, but we decided that it was time to get JT used to the potty chair. So we picked one up at Walmart. Nothing fancy... no music when you pee or toilet paper hanging on the side. Just a normal chair that will be able to be used on the toilet and it turns into a cute step stool. Anyway, we brought it home and let JT sit on it to try it out. He wouldn't get off. He probably sat on it for a good 15 minutes. We tried feet in water and running the bath water, but nothing happened. So the next day after his nap I stuck him on it again. Again he wouldn't get off so i decided to sit at my computer and wait. About 5 minutes later he came to see me. We walked back into the bathroom to get a diaper and lo and behold he had peed in the potty!!!! I clapped and cheered and got all excited. Everytime he saw the potty the rest of the day he would clap. I need to get some candy to put in the bathroom for when he goes. :) Jon and I went to Mesquite over the weekend for our anniversary so we didn't get the chance to do anything, but tonight I put him on and started the bathtub. Within 2 minutes he had peed and was ready to get in the tub. I know most would say it is way early and he won't keep doing this and I know I am definitely not ready to put him in big boy pants, but hey... I am a proud mom right now :) And you can never get started too early right?

OuR LiTtLe MoNsTeR!!!

I should be finishing my talk for Sunday and also my lesson for Young Womens, but here I am blogging instead :) This week has been so fun with JT. He has the cutest personality. He gets smarter every day and surprises us. Here are just a few cute pictures from this week. :) I better get back to preparing.

My cuddle bug!
We bought this motorcycle for JT because he wanted to play with one of Jon's model bikes and he also loves Jon's bullet bike. Unfortunately it makes noise! Enough said. LOL :)

Just cute!!!

Just for Nana!

Here you go Nana... we do have some pictures of you with JT :) I need to be better about getting other people in the pictures with JT. We probably have 10 million of just him. We need to update our family picture too... we are just too lazy I guess. JT loves his nana... it is funny to watch him. If he doesn't want papa he wants nana and vice versa! They are the best grandparents in the world. We are so lucky to be close and get to spend lots of time with them. WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Halloween!!!

Wow... kids can poop you out. We didn't really even go out trick or treating just went around and saw family. JT was all into the candy. That is really all he cared about. So we had a blast and he looked so stinkin cute! Oh plus an update on discipline. ;) Tonight JT threw a toy and I told him that if he threw it again he would have to put his nose in the corner. Well he put the toy on the ground and than proceded to go to the corner. LOL Jon and I were laughing so hard, but couldn't really have him see us. It might just work. We will have to see :)

Here is our little lion. My grandma made this costume for my Aunt Lisa when she was a kid. I think almost every grandchild has worn it. Everything gets so much more fun when your kids get older. I can't wait for Christmas!

We always have to pose in Nana's pumpkin display :)

JT & Papa
Digging for treasure!
Found it :)

FINALLY!!! A smile.

Discipline

My son is a very active toddler! VERY ACTIVE!!! The only time he sits still is in his car seat, when he is sleeping, or when we give him a sucker :) Jon and I decided that it is time to start working on sitting still for a little bit each day. I don't mind that he is active, but at church it gets a little rough. Today Jon put on Baby Einstein and had him sit down to watch. He told me he actually sat for 30 minutes which is a big thing!

It is also time to start "real" discipline. If he doesn't get in his high chair for dinner we stick him on the couch and tell him he can sit there or get in his chair. The first time it took 8 times and than he finally got off the couch and got in his chair. The next time we had to put him in "time out" it only took 3 times. He has been really good about getting in since then. Tonight I was getting some laundry together and heard him playing in Niko's food and water. Instead of putting him on the couch I decided to try a different approach. He laughed the whole time so I am not sure it will work, but it is cute! :)

Finally an update!

Wow... we have had a busy couple of weeks of flu, ear infections, colds, work, and major changes in our lives. Jon and I were sick about a week ago with the flu. Luckily JT didn't get the flu, but a few days later he came down with a nasty cold that turned into an ear infection. Thank heavens for antibiotics and he was back to normal after a day. I am still very busy at work and loving it. But the biggest change is with Jon and our family. A few months ago we heard about someone that wanted to sell their vending machine company. Jon and one of his friends talked about buying it and than I never really heard anything about it. About a month ago Jon told me that he was going to take it over and I was so excited! This is taking a huge leap of faith for us, but we are so thankful for this opportunity. It has taken awhile to get things going and we still aren't all the way done, but Jon worked his last day at Scholzens last week and he is ready to take over and get going. He will be able to stay home with JT during the day and work in the afternoon and evening. I can't even begin to explain what a blessing this is going to be for us. It is so crazy that when is rains it pours.. not only for trials, but also for blessings. We have watched our lives the past 3-4 months fall into place and that helps to know that we are doing the right thing. So that is the story of the past few weeks. I am sure I could add more info, but I don't want to bore y'all. :)

We had my grandpa's birthday party today at a park in Washington. Here is my dad, JT, and my grandpa. He is such a wonderful man. My dad is adopted along with his 3 sisters and 1 brother. Adoption holds a special place in our hearts. After the party we took JT to Staheli Farms. We had so much fun. I thought for a second that he may be too young to understand, but you can tell by the pictures that he had a blast and I am so glad that we took a few hours to enjoy it as a family. JT had more fun rocking on the horse and playing on the little John Deere tractor. He threw fits when we took him off of both. We definitely have some great ideas for Christmas! By the way... when has it ever been in the 80's the last week of October!!! I am loving it.

STILL ALIVE!!!! :)

Just so everyone knows... we are still alive and kicking. Some of my family said that they keep looking to see if I posted anything and it has been awhile. We have been busy and sick and changing our lives dramatically. So I am at work right now, but will try to post tonight about all the new exciting things happening in the Hutchings family. :) And one more thing... TGIF!!!!!!

I love this kid!

Where did time go? It seems like yesterday we were bringing JT home from the hospital. He is such a happy kid most of the time unless he is teething. Which right now he is getting 2 molars that I can tell and an eye tooth. (NOT FUN!!!!!) His personality is so outgoing and he loves using his lungs. Our lives are crazy! Since the economy has slowed down so much, they had to lay off the girl I worked with in the front which means I am now doing everything. So we made the hard decision to have someone watch JT. My cousin Crystal is watching him 3 days a week and my mom will watch him on Fridays. My grandma wants to watch him too, but my boss also wants me to still bring him sometimes so she can see him. I miss him so much during the day, but have noticed that it flies by and I get so much done. We have been so blessed!!!! We are heading up North this weekend to spend with Jon family so I will try to get pictures. It will be fun to get away.

It is moments like this...

That make us proud!
I am also proud of myself for letting go of all control
and letting him feed himself :)

WARNING... Graphic pictures below!!!

We have hit 15 months and our first major disaster! :) Just to warn you the pictures below are somewhat gross, but it was too funny not to blog about. I might print off my blog down the road so it has to be included. Ok... on to the story. Friday afternoon JT hadn't had a nap so I put him down before the Homecoming game. About 6:00 I heard him talking and asked Jon to run up and get him while I took care of something. Jon came running down yelling that I had to see this. I am thinking he got his legs stuck through the crib because it has happened before. We both walk up and I notice that Jon has the camera in his hand. As I reach the top of the stairs I am hit with the most disgusting smell. At that point I knew exactly what had happened and was so scared to go in. LOL Back the story up... I changed JT's diaper before I put him down and didn't put his shorts back on because I was planning on him wearing something else for the game. (NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!!!!) I walk in the room and there is poop everywhere. Well not everywhere... just all over blankets, sheets, JT, the crib. The only thing I could do was laugh while gagging :) Jon took care of JT and I took care of cleaning everything up. I will never just leave him in just a diaper. I totally learned my lesson. So I promised Megan I would post some pictures. :) Here they are.

Notice the clean bum. haha
"The Mess"

Trying to get prepared to clean. The smell was horrible. :)
Now on to the 15 month update...
Weight: 19lbs 5 oz (1 pound less than last month)
*We are now drinking Carnation instant breakfast to gain weight*
Height: ?? Havent measured him yet :) But he is getting taller finally.
JT has such a personality and is very smart. He doesn't say very many words yet, well we don't know because pretty much everything he says starts with a "D." Sometimes he will say other things, but it is random. He does surprise us though with how observant he is. Tonight after dinner I asked Jon if he wanted to go for a walk. JT walked over to the door like he was ready. He than went to the closet and tried to pull out his stroller. Jon and I just looked at each other in amazement. He gives "open mouth" kisses, blows kisses, and waved bye at everything. He also folds his arms for prayer and when we say it is time for night night climbs the stairs to his room and gets ready for prayer. Tonight he started walking backwards. Then he would run forward and go backward again. He is constantly amazing us. We love him so much. I can't imagine my life without him. I can't believe that he is already 15 months old. Next thing we know he is going to be 2. We are enjoying our time in our new house as a family. Here are a few pics of our cute little guy.

Loving the slide.

Such a Cheeseball!

Practicing his GQ pose. :)

My two favorite boys. :)

Home Tag

I know what some of you are thinking... "Holy Cow" :) My little sis tagged me and I figured this one is pretty easy and doesn't take too much deep thinking. hehe

The rules: No cleaning!!!!! That is it, I want to see how you really live! Here we go!

1. Laundry Room
I love this room. So much nicer than my closet in the other place.
2. Closet
I have way too many clothes that I don't wear.

3. Bathroom
Nothing really special. :)

4. Kitchen sink
I got the cute shelf for my birthday. Love it! :)

5. Fridge/Freezer

6. Pantry
This is also one of my favorite rooms in our house.

7. What is your kid doing?
He thinks he is big like us. Climbs up on the chair and tries to rock. Look how stinkin cute he looks. What a stud. :)
8. Your favorite room
This is where we are ALL THE TIME. JT now has a few favorite toys and they just happen to be the biggest. So they are pretty much out all the time along with Baby Einstein.
9. Our bedroom
I love this room too. Notice our night stands. lol Someday I will get to Ikea and buy my bedroom set. Still a lot to get done in our room.

10. Dream Vacation
My dream is anything tropical. I also have wanted to go to Hawaii, but not really anymore. I want to go where no one is.
This is Jon's dream vacation. Going back to Denmark where he served his mission. He always talks about it. I wish we just had a million dollars and we could go. Oh well... maybe someday.

Ok... there is my tag. Cherish it... who knows when I will do another one. :) I tag whoever feels like doing this.
