My little boy is 1 :) I can't believe how fast this past year has flown by. We had a birthday party with my family a few days after his birthday and he had so much fun. As you can see from the video. He really enjoyed his cake. He is still our little man. He has not grown taller in the last month. Still 29 1/2 inches and gained about 5 oz. Now at 19.5 pounds. I have to keep reminding myself that his birth mother was very petite and he probably won't get that big. Oh well. He is staying little just for me. :) Here are some pictures from the party.

My first attempt at decorating a cake. It was actually really fun.

Can you tell he enjoyed the cake? Everyone was shocked that he dug in so well. :) I was surprised he didn't get sick from all the sugar.

Cousins and Uncle Rams. He wouldn't even look at the camera. Too busy eating.
Happy Family
So I bought this little animal fridge thing for Trey when he turned 1. Megan said it got pretty annoying... so they bought it for JT. A little sweet revenge. Luckily he hasn't pushed it too much yet. He just likes to take the animal magnets off of the fridge and drop them.

Our Crazy Lives!!!

These are going to be long posts. Bear with me :) I will post about our vacation first and than a post dedicated to JT's birthday.

We went to Jon's Grandmas funeral Monday after work. That was after our crazy weekend. We were both exhausted and after crying for a full day we were ready for a vacation. On the way home from the funeral JT threw up everywhere in the car and started to act lethargic. He wouldn't drink or eat. He just layed there the whole way home. (I actually held him for the last hour) So we get home at 11 and hadn't packed for California, but we were so tired we just went to bed. We were supposed to leave at 8:30 the next morning, but I talked my parents into waiting so I could take JT to the Dr. The diagnosis was  "Stomach Flu" Yuck!!! They gave him a shot of Phenergan and he slept the whole drive to Cali... which was nice.

Ok... now on to our vacation. Thursday we went to Sea World. JT was still not himself, but we had fun until 4 hours into it and Jon started to throw up. So he took the hotel shuttle back and we stayed until closing. I loved Sea World. Probably even more than Disneyland. JT loved it too. He started to act like himself later in the day and was enjoying all the animals.  Our passes are good all year so we will probably be going back later this year just the 3 of us.

Watching Shamu. It was so hot and JT was not very happy having to wait.

Clapping for the dolphins!!! He was so cute to watch.

So Friday we decided to venture to Old Town San Diego. There are a million little mexican shops, a victorian village, and the Mormon Battalion museum. Jon was feeling much better this day, but poor Megan (my little sis) got the bug and once we got home she went to bed for the rest of the day. Friday night Jon took JT swimming for the first time. Now I have to say that California is supposed to be nice weather. The whole time we were there I don't think it got about 75. So swimming wasn't that fun and the pool was cold, but JT had fun.

We begged Daddy to let us buy this hat. Can you tell that JT loved it :) This is about the only picture I got of anything Mexican. I didn't do too well with my camera :)

My two favorite boys!!!

Saturday we decided it was beach time. IT WAS COLD... but we were all determined to have a good time. So we packed up our stuff, put on our swimming suits and headed for the beach. We got there and I had to buy a sweatshirt because it was so cold and Jon had decided beforehand that he wasn't going to swim. After seeing all the guys in the water he went and bought a new swimsuit and I am glad he did because he had a blast. So did JT for the time he was awake. He played for about an hour and than crashed in his stroller. After the beach we hung out at home. I swam with Megan and DJ and just relaxed as a family.

This is the new fad! :) Head stands are his new  favorite thing to do. I couldn't believe how well the sand stuck to his head. Even after a shower I was still finding sand.

So Sunday we got all packed up and headed for home. We didn't even get to the grocery store for supplies and my nephew Trey threw up. Poor thing threw up about 10 more times on the way home. We also hit an accident outside of Primm and went about 5 miles in about an hour. Our 7 hour trip took about 10 and we were so tired when we got home, but we made cupcakes and had a small celebration for JT since it was his birthday with Gamma and Papa. After opening presents from Aunt Shauna, Uncle Lawrence, and Lavinia... we went to bed! I have never slept sooooooo well.

We had so much fun being together as a family. There were little fights here and there and having the flu wasn't fun, but just getting away from work and the stresses of life made it all worth it. Just a follow-up... my dad got the flu on Wednesday and luckily no one else got it. Thank goodness. :) Now we are all just dealing with teeth coming in.

Coming soon...

Here is a sneek peek
We had him open Aunt Shauna's presents when we got back from Cali... on his actual birthday. Take One... Daddy's made him cupcakes for his birthday. We had been driving forever that day, but took the time to celebrate with Papa and Gamma. He enjoyed it, can you tell?

So I am hoping to do my big long post tomorrow after work. Sorry for the delay. I have a baby that is teething, a house that was in major need of some TLC (after being gone for awhile), and I have just been stinkin tired. So it is coming I promise. JT's birthday was a success. Now I just have to get used to having a one year old. I am seriously thinking it is time to start the process for another baby... it is just frustrating not knowing which direction to go. It would be much easier if I could just get pregnant. But since that isn't happening... we will just have to trust that the Lord knows what he is doing :) Anyway... sorry for the vent. I am tired and am going to bed. Until tomorrow... I HOPE ;)

Happy Birthday baby boy!!!!! Happy Father's Day to all!!!

I can't believe that JT is 1 today. It seems like just yesterday we were in Vegas to get him. This last year has been the best year of my life. He has completed our little family for now. We are still in California... (driving home today.) I will have to post pictures from our vacation and his birthday party later after we get settled back into life.

Crazy Crazy Week!!!

Grandma... We love you so much are going to miss you dearly!
Jon's grandma passed away last night. We are going to miss her so much. She was such an example to everyone around her. I loved spending time with her and Grandpa. We were very blessed to have her at our sealing to JT and to see her just a few months ago when we went up for Kristy's funeral. She was always so supportive of anything we decided to do. Her and grandpas marriage is something that I would love to have. They love each other so much. I can only imagine what Grandpa is going through. He has lost his sweetheart. Thank goodness for the gospel and our knowledge of life after this. It makes things a little bit easier. She had been sick for the past few months and in and out of the hospital and they could never pinpoint what the problem was. It is hard seeing someone who is very healthy go downhill in just a few months. We got an email from his dad last night that they found infection in her stomach and it would be too hard on her to operate so they made the decision to take her off life support. I have had a lot of people in my life die. I am pretty much used to everything associated with a death. Jon's little brother died 6 years ago and that about killed him. This is his first grandparent to go. He has had a hard time, but we are going to be ok. It helps that the next week is going to be insane for us. Just take a look at our schedule.

Friday: My cousin is getting baptized
Saturday: Beau and Stef's wedding, Luncheon, and reception...Grandma Nora's 100th birthday party
Sunday: Ramsey's Homecoming... blessing Pace... (my parents are having a little luncheon at their house after and as soon as we are done eating we will head up North for the funeral. All of Jon's siblings will be down so we will spend some time with them.
Monday: Grandma's viewing
Tuesday: Grandma's funeral (head for home soon after the funeral is done)
Wednesday - Sunday: California and Sea World (we will be in desperate need of a vacation by this point)

This is where I am very very grateful that we bought our car. We will get a lot of use out of it in the next week.

***On a happier note. JT stood up in the middle of the floor last night and decided that he is going to start to try and walk. Isn't it funny how kids have a mind of their own. I have been practicing with him today and he will definitely let me know when he is not interested. :)

Changes

Out with the old (horrible gas guzzler)
In with the new :) (Honda Accord)
This Jon and I's first brand new car. We are so excited to be done with the Yukon and have something that is reliable. Just in time for a vacation to California next week.
