Halloween!!!

Wow... kids can poop you out. We didn't really even go out trick or treating just went around and saw family. JT was all into the candy. That is really all he cared about. So we had a blast and he looked so stinkin cute! Oh plus an update on discipline. ;) Tonight JT threw a toy and I told him that if he threw it again he would have to put his nose in the corner. Well he put the toy on the ground and than proceded to go to the corner. LOL Jon and I were laughing so hard, but couldn't really have him see us. It might just work. We will have to see :)

Here is our little lion. My grandma made this costume for my Aunt Lisa when she was a kid. I think almost every grandchild has worn it. Everything gets so much more fun when your kids get older. I can't wait for Christmas!

We always have to pose in Nana's pumpkin display :)

Discipline

My son is a very active toddler! VERY ACTIVE!!! The only time he sits still is in his car seat, when he is sleeping, or when we give him a sucker :) Jon and I decided that it is time to start working on sitting still for a little bit each day. I don't mind that he is active, but at church it gets a little rough. Today Jon put on Baby Einstein and had him sit down to watch. He told me he actually sat for 30 minutes which is a big thing!

It is also time to start "real" discipline. If he doesn't get in his high chair for dinner we stick him on the couch and tell him he can sit there or get in his chair. The first time it took 8 times and than he finally got off the couch and got in his chair. The next time we had to put him in "time out" it only took 3 times. He has been really good about getting in since then. Tonight I was getting some laundry together and heard him playing in Niko's food and water. Instead of putting him on the couch I decided to try a different approach. He laughed the whole time so I am not sure it will work, but it is cute! :)

Finally an update!

Wow... we have had a busy couple of weeks of flu, ear infections, colds, work, and major changes in our lives. Jon and I were sick about a week ago with the flu. Luckily JT didn't get the flu, but a few days later he came down with a nasty cold that turned into an ear infection. Thank heavens for antibiotics and he was back to normal after a day. I am still very busy at work and loving it. But the biggest change is with Jon and our family. A few months ago we heard about someone that wanted to sell their vending machine company. Jon and one of his friends talked about buying it and than I never really heard anything about it. About a month ago Jon told me that he was going to take it over and I was so excited! This is taking a huge leap of faith for us, but we are so thankful for this opportunity. It has taken awhile to get things going and we still aren't all the way done, but Jon worked his last day at Scholzens last week and he is ready to take over and get going. He will be able to stay home with JT during the day and work in the afternoon and evening. I can't even begin to explain what a blessing this is going to be for us. It is so crazy that when is rains it pours.. not only for trials, but also for blessings. We have watched our lives the past 3-4 months fall into place and that helps to know that we are doing the right thing. So that is the story of the past few weeks. I am sure I could add more info, but I don't want to bore y'all. :)

We had my grandpa's birthday party today at a park in Washington. Here is my dad, JT, and my grandpa. He is such a wonderful man. My dad is adopted along with his 3 sisters and 1 brother. Adoption holds a special place in our hearts. After the party we took JT to Staheli Farms. We had so much fun. I thought for a second that he may be too young to understand, but you can tell by the pictures that he had a blast and I am so glad that we took a few hours to enjoy it as a family. JT had more fun rocking on the horse and playing on the little John Deere tractor. He threw fits when we took him off of both. We definitely have some great ideas for Christmas! By the way... when has it ever been in the 80's the last week of October!!! I am loving it.

STILL ALIVE!!!! :)

Just so everyone knows... we are still alive and kicking. Some of my family said that they keep looking to see if I posted anything and it has been awhile. We have been busy and sick and changing our lives dramatically. So I am at work right now, but will try to post tonight about all the new exciting things happening in the Hutchings family. :) And one more thing... TGIF!!!!!!
