How many more do we have?

Teeth... why do they have to hurt so much? JT's second bottom tooth is pushing through today. He woke up ok. Ate breakfast really well and actually went down for his morning nap with not much of a fight. This afternoon was a different story. It is hard enough to be working and wearing the two hats. I think I manage to do a pretty darn good job doing both my work and taking care of JT. But today was a different story. After he woke up and had his bottle he would not let me put him down. He was whiny and wouldn't go to sleep. He wasn't the happy baby that he always is and it finally dawned on me that the tooth was probably coming through. (Flashback to a couple of weeks ago and the bad bad day we had when he cut his first tooth) Sure enough... it is halfway up through the gums. At least my baby is predictable. I am sure everything will go back to normal tomorrow until the next tooth decides to do it's thing. He fell asleep on the way home and will probably sleep for 3 hours... I hope. I am going to enrichment tonight so Daddy will get to be with him. Lucky Daddy :)

By the way... I am still working on pictures from the sealing. Hopefully I can get them up tonight or tomorrow.

President Gordon B. Hinckley... 1910-2008

What an awesome man and wonderful example to everyone.
He will be greatly missed. I had the oppourtunity to meet President Hinckley in the garden outside of the Joseph Smith Memorial building in 8th grade. When I shook his hand I could feel the spirit and I have been in awe since then of the wonderful things he has accomplished. You could tell since his wife died that he never got over it and it wore on him. We watched every conference as he joked that he may not be here for the next conference, but I never really thought that the day would come. Can you imagine the reunion in heaven and President and Sister Hinckley?? We have been so blessed to hear from him for 12 years. We love you President Hinckley and will miss you.

Digital Scrapbooking!

For all of you professional digital scrapbookers out there (you know who you are)- I need help. Where can I go to learn what to do. Are there websites to download layouts? Are there cd's I can buy? Do I need to buy software? I have photoshop... I think that works. I just want to start getting all of JT's stuff in a book and this looks like a lot more fun than cutting and gluing. Totally would have come in handy when we were doing our adoption profile. Oh well. I would love any help you all could give me. Thanks a bunch!

First tooth!

JT cut his first tooth today! Bottom right (if you are looking at him) The two bottom teeth have been swollen for about a month now. He hasn't been at all ornery or a pain in the butt. :) I guess nothing phases him. The only thing he doesn't like it us trying to look and feel them. He has mastered how to keep us out of his mouth. I swear sometimes this kid is way too smart for his britches. He is so cute with his little white spots. You can see them well in this picture. (by the way... he loves shoes and shoelaces) and we are in love with him.

Fun in the sink!

We were up North this weekend for a funeral and was able to spend a lot of time with family. Here is JT in Grandma Hutchings' sink. He thought it was pretty cool.
Look at that cute little bum!

I have posted JT's sleeping positions before. He always falls asleep in the craziest positions. Tonight I went to check on him and this is what I found.

Happy Happy Day!

We went to court today to have our adoption finalized. I didn't realize the stress that was on me until the judge told us that JT was officially JT and we were done. (No more Dedrick D'Anthony) :) A ton of bricks was lifted and I haven't been able to wipe the smile from my face all day. I am so thankful to everyone that has been praying for us and for all of your support. Thank you to my family. You will never know just how much you have helped us get through this. This 6 months flew by and I am glad to have him ours finally and now the most exciting part. We will be going to the temple in a few weeks to be sealed together. YEAH!!!! YEAH!!!!! YEAH!!!!!

In Shock!

What is this world coming to? A beautiful, lovable, funny, wonderful mother...daughter & sister was taken from her family and children yesterday by the hands of her husband. I read the article in the news yesterday after church and couldn't believe that a guy could do that to his spouse... even if they were having problems. Last night I was at my parents and Jon called to tell me that that article was about a close family friend that he has known most of his life and I came to be very close to while we were in Washington. Christy was such a joy to be around. Her bubbly personality made everyone love her. It makes me sick to think of what her boys will be going through the rest of their life. Their mother was taken from them and their father was the one who did it. Luckily they have a wonderful family that will take care of them. Out of all days her birthday and in front of her mother. I know she will never read this, but I want Sister Palizzi to know that I love her with all of my heart. I can't even imagine what she is going through right now. My prayers are with the Palizzi family and all of the people that Christy touched throughout her life. There will be a void in each of our lives where she once was.

Exciting news!!!!

Our adoption will be finalized on January 10th... and Jon's Grandpa Packard will be sealing us on January 26th in the St. George temple. We are so excited that this part of the journey is almost complete. Our adoption has gone by very quickly. I can't believe JT is already 6 months old. The Lord is definitely looking out for us. We are so blessed. I can't wait to become a forever family with my son!!!!!

My baby is crawling!!!

I can't believe how fast JT is growing up. It seems like yesterday that we were picking him up at the hospital and now he is crawling. I am sure it won't be too long before he is running around the house. He has quite the personality and we enjoy every minute with him.

Christmas was a success!!!

Christmas was so wonderful. We didn't think JT would understand and would just play with the wrapping paper and bows like everyone told us. Well... he was so much fun. From Santa's big present to the littlest toy. He played with everything. We probably spoiled him, but we waited forever for him and it was too much fun buying stuff... so maybe we will do better next year. Here are just a few pictures of him. Christmas PJ's
First truck from Papa and Gamma Cox. It makes sounds and he loves it.
We almost couldn't get him out of this thing.

Christmas church outfit. Looking pretty good :)

Long time - no post!

I am going to have to get caught up one of these days. Christmas was so busy and I have have a million pictures that I would love to post. I will have to choose my favorite ones and get them up here soon. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas like us! :)
